Old school is cool, and if you want a phaser pedal – the MXR 1974 vintage re-issue Phase 90 pedal is the one. Dave Gilmour? Eddie Van Halen? They used the original MXR Phase 90 and it set the benchmark for phasers. Since then tone purists have been searching for original examples of the Phase 90 trying to re-create the classic warm analogue phase. The tone of the stock Phase 90’s just isn’t quite the same.
This cool vintage re-issue is an exact copy of an original MXR Phase 90, originally purchased in 1974 by Dunlop Senior Engineer Bob Cedro. This pedal is hand-wired using high quality matched components from these original 1974 specs using select resistors paired with hand-matched FETs to achieve the same smooth and warm modulation as the original. The ’74 Vintage Phase 90 even looks the part with its classic orange finished box and unmistakable script logo.
Available only from the MXR Custom Shop, this thing is so retro – it doesn’t even have a socket for a power supply, it’s batteries only! But this just adds to the old school vibe of probably the coolest phaser ever re-made.
