Designed to be the more traditional rock-focused brother to Santana’s sustain-quest specification SG2000, the SG1000 features many of the same features as Yamaha’s most famous model including premium materials and master-craftsman construction swapping only the through-neck for a more traditional set-in design to give a powerful, biting rock tone.
The SG1000 features Yamaha’s custom Alnico pickups and dual push/push coil taps that have made the legendary SG2000 a much sought-after classic, combined with a set-neck design for traditional rock tone and feel. The same handcrafted construction at Yamaha’s Japanese Music Craft workshop as the flagship SG2000 ensures the set up and finish are flawless while the latest SG models feature Initial Response Acceleration – a Yamaha exclusive manufacturing technique that replicates the physical changes the guitar undergoes during years of playing, accelerating the tonal ageing process, giving a more resonant, mature tone and enhanced sustain.
